Peeling is a classic dermatological treatment that consists of renewing the most superficial layers of the skin, leaving it more luminous, uniform and smooth.

It restores the skin’s homogeneous color, helps to tighten pores, and prevents the appearance of wrinkles by stimulating the formation of new collagen in the dermis. Additionally, various scientific studies have demonstrated the beneficial effect of medical peels in preventing skin cancer, thus promoting the health of our skin.

The skin is first cleansed and sensitive areas such as the eyes, nasolabial folds and corners of the nose are protected. A degreasing substance is then spread over the area to be treated and the chemical is then applied for a few minutes. Occasionally a slight temporary itching may be felt. In the following days, the skin will peel slightly and the superficial layers will be replaced by new ones. In most cases, the patient can apply make-up immediately after the treatment and continue with his or her usual routine. The number of peels a person needs and the frequency of peels depends on each case.
Where is it applied?
  • Face
  • Neck
  • Neckline
  • Back (in case of acne or hyperpigmentation)
  • Hands or other photoexposed areas
What are the post-treatment care instructions?
The most important thing is to avoid sun exposure during the weeks following a chemical peel, especially in the first few days. Additionally, it is recommended to cleanse the skin with gentle facial hygiene cosmetics and then apply regenerating moisturizing creams, not forgetting to apply SPF 50+ sunscreen every morning. The weeks following a peel are an ideal time to use specific treatments according to the needs of each person, as the horny layer is thinner and the epidermis more receptive. It is recommended to use cosmetics with depigmenting active ingredients in case of blemishes, vitamin C in case of dull skin or glycolic in case of photoaging.
How long do the effects of the treatment last?
The effects can be seen from the first sessions and accumulate over time. The improvement in texture, luminosity and skin tone is progressive. The duration of the results will depend on skin type, regularity of treatment and compliance with aftercare.
