Description
What does the treatment consist of? Small amounts of hyaluronic acid, more or less concentrated depending on the area to be treated, are introduced intradermally with a fine needle. The process is somewhat uncomfortable, so topical anesthesia is applied beforehand. Once the treatment is completed, the patient can return to his or her normal routine immediately.
Where is it applied?
- Central facial area: on the cheeks, nasolabial folds, suborbital groove (under-eye area), and marionette lines on the chin.
- Lips: The goal is to add volume to the lips or sometimes simply enhance the lip profile to provide natural projection to the lips.
- Perioral wrinkles, also known as “lipstick lines” can be smoothed as hyaluronic acid provides support to prevent these wrinkles from becoming pronounced when speaking or making facial expressions. In this treatment, it is essential to apply a small amount of hyaluronic acid to achieve a completely natural result.
- Other indications include filling in flattened cheekbones, earlobe augmentation, correction of scars and surgical defects, etc.
How long does the effect of hyaluronic acid last? Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance and therefore resorbable. Its duration is approximately 12 months.
