Vitamin C, the skin benefits of this natural antioxidant

Vitamin C is recommended for use when the first signs of aging such as fine wrinkles or spots begin to appear.

It can be used all year round but the best time of the year to use it is just after summer. This is because the excess of solar radiation during the summer months induces cellular oxidation and the formation of melanin, causing the dreaded wrinkles and spots to appear. Vitamin C has a powerful antioxidant and depigmenting effect on the skin, preventing and improving these unwanted effects.

Vitamin C has a powerful antioxidant and depigmenting effect and therefore delays the appearance of the signs of aging: wrinkles, spots, enlarged pores, etc… It also promotes the creation of collagen and improves skin elasticity. Vitamin C visually improves the appearance of the skin and adds radiance.

When to apply it?

If you are undergoing a rejuvenation treatment in monotherapy with vitamin C, it is advisable to apply it at night since the skin is more receptive during the hours of sleep. In the morning, apply a repairing moisturizer and sunscreen if necessary.

If we combine vitamin C with glycolic acid as a rejuvenating or depigmenting treatment after the summer, the ideal is to apply both at night: first the vitamin C in serum on clean, dry skin and then the glycolic acid in gel or cream texture. In the mornings it is also recommended to apply a repairing moisturizer and sunscreen if necessary.

Liposomal vitamin C as in TUDERMA’ s serum can also be used in the morning as its formula is safe and does not irritate the skin. In addition, its illuminating and tightening effect makes it ideal as a make-up base.

We should not forget that oral vitamin C at breakfast would be an ideal complement to prevent skin aging as it has a powerful antioxidant effect both internally and externally. It can be taken in the form of foods such as kiwis, oranges or tomatoes or as a food supplement.
